Case material: Polycarbonate
Motion sensor: The motion sensor acts as an accelerometer. It measures the movement of a steel ball bearing rolling on a piezo ceramic material. The signal is then filtered to remove unwanted noise and converted to a digital signal, which is compatible with a microprocessor.
Key operation: The key body (on/off switch) contains a magnet. Inside the DSX MKII is a reed switch, when the magnet is in close proximity to the reed switch it pulls an internal contact lever into the open position. when the key is removed the lever returns to a closed position turning the DSX on.
I.S standards:

Manual button material: Evoprene.
Operating requirements: (Temperature range, weight, sound etc)

Temperature Sensor
The temperature sensor is mounted on the PCB ( printed circuit board) inside the case moulding and it is there to monitor the internal temperature of the electronic components.
The temperature sensor will operate if the temperature inside the unit exceeds 70-80 degrees centigrade, however due to the thermal propagation through the case moulding it may take anything from 15 minutes to 1 hour for the unit to activate and warn the user to have the DSX unit serviced.
Please be aware that this is not meant to be a life saving feature.
