Motion sensor:
The motion sensor acts as an accelerometer. It measures the movement of a steel ball bearing rolling on a piezo ceramic material. The signal is then filtered to remove unwanted noise and converted to a digital signal, which is compatible with a microprocessor.
Key operation:
The key body (on/off switch) contains a magnet. Inside the DSX MKII is a reed switch, when the magnet is in close proximity to the reed switch it pull an internal contact lever to the open position when the key is removed the lever returns to a closed position turning the DSX on.

Temperature Sensor
The temperature sensor is mounted on the PCB inside the case and it is there to monitor the internal electronics of the unit.
The temperature sensor will operate if the temperature inside the unit exceeds 70-80 degrees centigrade, however due to the thermal propagation through the case it may take up to 1 hour for the unit to activate and warn the user to have the unit serviced.
Please be aware that this is not meant to be a life saving feature.
